Hi Good Ac, O.K I get it now. Acer uses a funny little ribbon cable for HDD/SSD. No it is not maditory to upgrade at all but the 128GB M.2 drive is kind of small. It is up to you. Personally I would just upgrade the M.2 drive to a larger size unless you have a spare large SSD that you could use. No worries about loosing your stuff as there are I recently was gifted an acer aspire 3 that includes an m.2 drive. when i go through the bios it says that a second drive (2.5 in drive) can be added but when i opened it up n could not see a cord to plug a second drive into. can i buy a drive cord separately to install and upgrade another drive
